This is a useful USB Ethernet dongle

I got it for someone else to use. It's 2020 and as part of the COVID mitigation process, a colleague's son sometimes takes over the office while accessing school remotely via a series of Chromebooks. Wifi in the office is problematic so I got it so it could use the office's ethernet network. There is access inside the office firewall but without actually being on the work network. Anyway, it plugs into a Chromebook's USB jack and a CAT5 Ethernet cable, and Chrome OS doesn't require any additional configuration to adapt to it and establish an Ethernet connection and an Internet connection. It gained and managed access between firewalls on the network, and the only problem the Chromebook encountered was that one of the school district's sites couldn't communicate effectively with the database. It's not clear if this is related to the dongle, the Chromebook, or the network configuration. The only downside is that it's a dongle that hangs from the USB port by a short cable. On a Chromebook, the port is next to the keyboard, so the USB portion, cable, and Ethernet jack are partially in the way. I haven't tried the optional USB-C adapter. I'm wondering if the dongle will work with the tablet via USB-C.
