Review on 🔒 Honda Ridgeline Manual Tailgate Lock - POP & LOCK PL6100 in Black: Effortless Security for Your Truck by Michael Jackson

When I first installed this lock it was exactly as expected and I was happy. After 1/2 year the spring in the latch started to jam, so it doesn't always "pop" into the latched position. After some strategic greasing, this issue was resolved but did not become trouble free. I now understand that the actual lock core that accepts the key has corroded to the point where a unique key profile for locking and unlocking is not needed. Anything that fits in the key slot can be used to turn the lock. So it's no longer a lock but more of a doorknob and my back door already had a handle so this purchase was a failure. I contacted Revain to report the issue but although they sell it they don't make it, they were unable to offer me any help or information on how to complain to the manufacturer or how to resolve my issue. Assuming someone purchasing this item is concerned about security I would think twice before making this purchase as you have no option to seek help if your lock fails.
