I asked my local whole house filtration partner to install a new system to replace my old two pump system. This was long overdue and recently, after spontaneously emptying my storage tank, I noticed a build up of sand at the bottom of this open top tank, maybe 60 gallons. I explained my sand problem to them, after which he explained that he was going to install one of those Rusco sand filters. While I understood this was only a temporary fix, little did I know it had tiny capacity. Once filled it completely blocks water flow and isolates my downhole pump from the downstream pressure switch, causing my pump to run indefinitely. The next morning I found that I had no water pressure. When I went outside I found the filter was completely damaged and as soon as I manually emptied it hot water came out for several minutes. Installing this tiny filter could damage my water pump. There was an error. Note. This filter is bad because of its application.
