Review on ONETWOFIT OT103 Wall Mounted Pull Up Bar - 6-Hole Design, 440 Lbs Max Weight Capacity For Indoor/Outdoor Use by Joe Comforti

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Acceptable good for me

I would never consider using the mounting hardware it comes with since it looks a bit flimsy. Even the bolts that hold it together will be replaced with quality bolts during my next trip to the hardware store. The unit itself is okay except for a little flex in the horizontal welded joints for the long arms that attach to the wall mount which is okay as long as they were welded correctly. Will they hold up over time, we'll see. This unit is rated at 440 lbs which I don't believe. If those welds hold 280 lbs. I'd be surprised. The horizontal pull up bar that is angled at the ends is definitely the weak link. For some reason they made it two pieces that join together in the center and are secured by a flimsy screw. At 185lbs. it flexes a little at that joint which concerns me. I mounted mine on horizontal 2x4 stringers that I lagged into the header over a door using 5" 3/8" lags then lagged the unit to the stringers. I used 5" 3/8" lag bolts that travel through the unit mount holes, through the stringers and go 3" into the door header. The mount holes will not match normal stud spacing. My mounting is absolutely bulletproof. My mounting could hold 440lbs. but I doubt the welds could.

Pros
  • The bar can be used to perform a wide range of exercises, from pull ups and chin ups to hanging knee raises and dips
Cons
  • May have a learning curve for proper use
