I use it to hide a few things I have that are important in relation to the plan. It was an idea. The book looks fake and is easy to navigate. I rubbed it a little and put tape on the hem of the book to make it look old. This made it fit better on my bookshelf. The way the book safe arrives just screams: book safe; not even like a new book. The change in appearance helped. My favorite part is the lock and key. It can be easy to hack; however, it must first be found. I bought two and use one often; I open at least 1-3 times a day. I've had it for over 2 months and it has hardly any signs of wear.
