This is a horrible copy of a tool I've had for years but recently lost. It has the same aluminum body and orange plastic cheeks. The difference is that the threads on the pull rod are poorly cut, squeak and squeak when turned - and it doesn't have the same range of adjustment as the original. In fact, it has almost no customization. In the original tool, you could slide the orange plastic cheek back on one side to access the large slotted screw that goes through the slot. Adjusting this with a screwdriver sets the amount of friction that can be achieved with the knurled knob on the other end of the tool. The cheeks do not slip. And no instructions for the tool to suggest it can be done. I'll try to do this with a piece of metal plate and a hammer. Stanley's tool, which all subsequent tools imitate, had a screw fully open to adjust friction.
