As said you can check the bottom and depths but it's not good for marking fish, you can compare the demo both with and without the fish icon and you won't be able to tell why it marks the fish (with the fish icon on). The icon is great for beginners, but as someone inexperienced you want to see the arcs, not the icon, and the resolution just isn't good enough for that. I don't know why this phone has so many good reviews. This is normal in my book. Hardly has any function, this may include battery voltage. I bought it based on reviews and it was similar to the Lowrance Elite 4 I once had. Maybe it's good bang for the buck, but I'd recommend saving a little more for something more useful.
