I bought this item without looking closely at the specs. I wanted to run it from a 5V or 12V power supply to power the RPi B2. The RPi had a POE splitter that converted the voltage to 5V. I used to use a POE ethernet switch with no problem. I added this but used a separate power supply that I could turn on and off separately. It turns out that the power signal goes through the ethernet cable and also through the power injector, so I couldn't turn on the power because the power from the ethernet POE switch was always there. So using a separate Ethernet switch and a 12V or 5V power supply didn't work either. Then I noticed that the problem most likely lies in the limitation of the power of the injector. Buyer Warning.
