My previous crankset was 42T. With 14-28 (7 speed cassette) in the back, the lowest two gears were comfortable to go round town while towing my daughter in a trailer. But we came across the occasional hill, I didn't have any more gears to help.Switching to a 36T crankset was just the ticket. It moved my normal riding range to the the middle of the rear cassette. I can shift down for hills and shift up to go faster. The crankset itself is study and came packaged well, so the gear was not warped. Only downside is that there is no guard to keep your pants/leg from touching the chain by accident.Overall, I still love it. The price is fair. You'll need a square taper crank puller to remove the old crankset to install a new one. I shortened the chain by a few links to accommodate the new crankset.
