I would not recommend this unit unless you are a seasoned DIY enthusiast or have a plumber install it

. . and perhaps if it is a new installation in a new kitchen. I think I'm pretty good at home remodeling, I've remodeled a bathroom including plumbing and wiring and changed rooms and walls in my house but it took me almost NINE hours to install this unit. Partly because it had to do with replacing an old, outdated unit (so it wasn't a new install) and I had to travel to Lowes 4 times to get the parts I needed that weren't included to clean the water- and drain system upgrade for this new system, partly because I've spent about 2 hours on the internet trying to figure out how to install this unit - the instructions, if you can call them that, are awful, and I thought a 30- minute lunch. So if this was a fresh install and I now KNOW HOW to install it, I could probably do it in a lot less than 3 hours, but it took almost nine. The instructions are almost useless, I couldn't find anything online. for this particular device (there is a YouTube that says it's about this device and other similar devices, but YouTube is ONLY about something else), and the company's support line is only open on Mondays from 8:30am to 5:50 p.m. EST manned. until Friday, so it doesn't help on Saturday. The BOM is not a descriptive "list" rather than naming individual parts and/or having actual photos, which would be much better. For example, one of the parts listed is called "polyethylene tubing". Well, there are 3 different colors of tubes, but the written instructions state 4 colors of tubes, the "blue" tube is not included. The written part about installing a reverse osmosis faucet requires a blue hose, but the photo that accompanies this guide SHOWS the supplied white hose. However, the same white tubing is used to connect the storage tank to the reverse osmosis system, but this discrepancy is not explained. YouTube clarifies that this pipe is meant to be used for both and needs to be cut to length. There is a length of hose from the "auto shutoff valve" to the 3rd stage filter that is not connected. The connector for this is included in the parts package, but it is not labeled and nowhere is it specified when and how to make this connection. In fact, the instructions don't even mention when and how to mount the entire unit in a cabinet. The most frustrating issue was the "white hose" / "blue hose" to the reverse osmosis faucet. All written instructions say to use 1/4" "blue hose", but the photos only show 3/8" "white hoses", and the faucet connector will only work with 3/8" white Hose The last connection of the reverse osmosis system is ONLY suitable for the blue 1/4" hose. So the reverse osmosis outlet is designed for a 1/4" pipe (blue), but the faucet it goes to only has a 3/8" pipe (white). This was the biggest problem with the installation, not addressed anywhere in the manual or on the web. The repair took at least two hours. Finally, I found an unmarked and unspecified 3/8" "white hose" outlet fitting in the parts bag. /8" to solve this problem permanently. I wasn't very happy with disassembling the factory installed connector, but this was the only way to solve this problem. I am not happy with the output flow and will call tomorrow to find out this can be fixed but I don't think it is possible 24 hours after installation the output flow is 1 liter in 40 seconds which seems like a long time. My old device filled a liter in about 25 seconds, so it now takes 60% longer. Filling glasses for a family dinner takes about 2 minutes The design required the use of 1/4" tubing as per the instructions. My old unit had a 5/16" outlet and a 5/16" "-Hose on it. But the new outlet is 1/4". about 56% smaller in area than the 5/16 inch outlet I had, so for the same household water pressure this explains the reduction in water flow from the new unit. So unless they can provide a new, wider reverse osmosis faucet (or I buy one and upgrade it for this unit), the math says the flow won't improve. The "instructions" never mention how to connect this unit to a fridge or ice maker, which I think is self-explanatory. Also included with the unit is a "leak stop valve" which is not mentioned anywhere. When I searched the internet for links, it seemed so fragile that I was afraid to install it. , due to the problems the company says it can cause. The unit looks well made, is quiet, and uses only one gallon of water for every gallon of filtered water produced. w This is very good since most units use 2 to 3 gallons per gallon of filtered water. So this high quality device, well made, seems to have very good water quality, but it has very BAD instructions, reduced performance. and no weekends or evenings, support is available. I really don't recommend this unit unless it's a fresh install or you're paying a plumber to do it. BTW when I installed the last module I replaced it was a fresh install and using the instructions that came with it I think it only took an hour to install.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • I don't remember
