Review on Experience Superior Gaming with the VIOTEK GNV34DB2 34 Inch UltraWide Monitor: 3440X1440, 100Hz, Adaptive Sync, HDMI by Jerry Clayton

In this review I will not be super detailed. There are many other reviews and videos, many of which influenced my purchase decision. I will only highlight the most important points. Pros: - Brightness is good, even with HDR enabled. Play around with the settings as you like. - The picture quality is very good. Swipe a few more times in Settings. With a DP 2.0 cable I get a full 144Hz refresh rate. Games look great, I don't have any tearing and the framerate is high. For the price this is a bargain. Cons: For me, it's not G-Sync compatible. When I enable G-Sync in the Nvidia Control Panel, I get a lot of flickering and screen tearing. There can be many reasons for this. I'm using a manually overclocked Asus ROG Strix 2080 Super, so the monitor might not like my OS or that particular card. I haven't done any troubleshooting to be honest, but when I had to choose between a stable OS that runs cool and gives me 120+ fps at 1440p with G-Sync enabled, I know what to choose. HDR is not impressive. It can't be the monitor's fault. That may be due to my lack of experience with HDR monitors, maybe even Microsoft, but HDR looks mediocre to me. I know a lot of people have said this before, but the included stand sucks. In the delivery state, it appears unstable and wobbly. I bought a VESA table clamp for this. It technically adds $35 to the price, but you know. It's quite possibly the best 34-inch QHD widescreen gaming monitor you'll find for under $600. I wish I could spend $300 or $400 more on a more popular name. Brand? May be. Games and videos still look great on it, even though the front says Viotek instead of Samsung or LG? Definitive. If you have $1,000 more for a widescreen gaming monitor, you probably aren't reading this review anyway.
