I have sensitive skin that turns red and flushed after some light sun exposure and this item helps out a lot. I sleep all morning since I work late and when I wake up around noon, my room is still dark. Light still gets through to indicate that it's day outside so that is why I pair it with curtains to keep the room dark. It has to be paired with curtains, it doesn't work as a standalone item for me. Sometimes I don't even notice the sunlight until I wake up because the sun doesn't shine in my eyes. I am still adjusting to how dark the room remains, but I am not unsatisfied! Often I am happy the my money wasn't wasted. I also received this at the end of a heatwave so I can't vouch about this product's usefulness during the heat. Also it's a trip to be in a dark room and then go to open the windows - the sudden change in brightness from dark to light leaves me a bit blinded, but that's normal.edit: Months later I can talk about how useful it is now that I've had it for a while. For the sun and heat, I found that sunlight still filters through so I have to keep my curtains up. It does darken my room a bit where I don't wake up bothered by the sunlight (especially with curtains). It is useful during the day that no one can look through my windows from the outside, it's always dark. As for keeping out the heat, it's not useful in that aspect. My place has poor insulation which contributes to it, it can only do so much.I found another use for the leftover film that I had. I use Command strips, the ones with the sticky front and back, and put them on my wall. I use it for decoration and whatever picture I tape to the wall (with poster tape), it sticks to it. So I'll put up pictures and posters on the film that it on my wall and it doesn't fall off the wall. Things on my walls have a tendency to fall especially when it's humid inside so I found that it's useful in that area. Makes my walls look less boring and it keeps things up.
