Review on Polyvance Bigfoot Tip by Tim Kallimanis

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Echo fits Harbor Freight Plastic Welding Kit 80W

Fits irons in this kit but will not engage threads. The thread in HF iron is M6 x 1.0, not screwed in to the bottom of the thread, the HF tip OD is 0.233 inch. that the threads do not get caught at all. As Mike pointed out, the screw in the high frequency iron holds that tip in the iron well enough for it to solder well. The RF iron first heated this tip to about 425 degrees Fahrenheit (measured with a thermocouple), after more than 30 minutes of use the temperature dropped to about 385 degrees Fahrenheit. It had no temp control (or dimmer) but was able to fix cracked HDPE outside the cooler with Polyvance HDPE rods, had to move faster to avoid a fire as I had no temp control. Still did a good job. I'll end up getting a Polyvance 5210 FiberFlex repair kit https://www.amazon.com/Polyvance-FiberFlex-Repair-Kit/dp/B0007LDJBY/ and use this tip with that once I've built the temperature control.
