Polyvance Bigfoot Tip Review

Perfect. I bought this hoping it would fit an 80w plastic welder. It turns well. A little less, but once it's fully screwed in and the set screw is screwed in, it's going nowhere.

This is for plastic repairs. Not much can be said until you repair a part on a Mercury Capri RS 83 that is either impossible to replace or so expensive that you are willing to forego the entire project. It's brass, but at that moment it was worth its weight in gold. I like this!

Fits irons in this kit but will not engage threads. The thread in HF iron is M6 x 1.0, not screwed in to the bottom of the thread, the HF tip OD is 0.233 inch. that the threads do not get caught at all. As Mike pointed out, the screw in the high frequency iron holds that tip in the iron well enough for it to solder well. The RF iron first heated this tip to about 425 degrees Fahrenheit (measured with a thermocouple), after more than 30 minutes of use the temperature dropped to about 385 degrees
