Purchased this on a desperate whim to try to provide a small amount of relief for my elderly mother who came down with a classic case of the shingles. We caught it early and she went on the prescribed meds within 48-72 hours so I know that also played a big factor but I can honestly say this cream did wonders. My mom's whole demeanor would change within an hour or two of putting this on (we put it on rather thickly to create a barrier to her clothes). She said it didn't fully take the pain away but it made it much more tolerable. And the blisters? Within a few days, half of them were shrunk down to little dots and/or shriveled up as if nothing were ever there. There definitely are a few rough patches still - don't expect it to go from a full blown case of shingles to nothing - but I just keep saying how here skin doesn't look "angry" - red and blistery for sure but there isn't a radiating redness and her skin around the popped blisters looks healthier. She still has a ways to go before she's fully healed but we're on our second canister of the cream and apply it religiously twice a day. I have been telling anyone who will listen that if they know someone with the shingles, they need to get this cream. It worked for us. We'll be keeping it in the house in general from now on.
