I can't comment on the effectiveness of the actual filtering. National Review magazine rated this device very highly, which is why I bought it and have no reason to doubt it. The water is delicious. Inexpensive filters last quite a long time, they are very easy to change and the filter consumption indicator is clearly visible. I have a complaint about the connection mechanism. In the product description it is very clear that to connect the filter you have to use the supplied quick connector, which replaces the aerator on older faucets. No problem. But after 1.5 years of regular use, it's still difficult to connect. I expected Clear2o's own connectors to be easier to pair with each other. Mating the connectors is a bit of muscle work with two hands, and unplugging them isn't much easier. The connectors seem to click when they're properly plugged in, but when there's something going on in your kitchen you may not hear (or feel) the click, in which case water is sloshing around the connector under significant pressure. A person with arm strength problems will have difficulty connecting the hose to the faucet.
