1. It needs to be connected to the phone charger to work.2. Use the QR code that appears on the screen or in the printed guide to download the application.3. Use the app to download the firmware. The version number should appear as a serial number under the QR code on the screen. Couldn't find the exact version that matches the screen but it worked when I downloaded the latest version. It works but there is a noticeable lag between the projected image and the iPhone screen. (probably the sound will be muted) I honestly plan to return. The actual Apple adapter works without a power cable (if I remember correctly), without software hoops. And it's smooth. Spend extra money and don't get it. 👍
