My husband and I used this adapter on a 4 week trip to Australia where switched sockets are used (ie any outlet has a switch on the outlet to turn the power on or off for that outlet). Because the adapter is large, the switch gets in the way and the adapter could not be fully inserted and often had to be propped up to stay in place after something was inserted. We ended up buying an extension cord and connecting the adapter to the extension cord. After we received the extension cord, the adapter worked perfectly. I liked that we could charge our phones via USB ports in addition to another device that needed to be plugged in (like a camera charger or electric toothbrush charger).
