This is a good big solid bell and when it rings clear it makes a very pleasant ring. The main problem is that it doesn't ring clearly and consistently. I had to unscrew the cap a few turns to get it ringing brighter and clearer, but then it dangles and doesn't stay in the optimal position. I tried using teflon tape to "tighten" the threads but it didn't quite work. I would probably use Loctite but haven't tried it yet. When the pink cap is screwed on tight, the lever is harder to press and the sound is more like a clink than a pure ding-dong. 2.5 maybe if I could.
