Review on πŸ”€ HHIP 3601 0511 Piece 16 18 Transfer - Ultimate Tool for Smooth Transfers by Loren Schmidt

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Very good for the money. but had to send one back as defective.

I tested them on an aluminum project and they worked very well. The dots are pretty sharp and seemed to outlast a project and it looks like they have plenty of life left. The dots aren't perfectly centered, but close enough for what I did. maybe within .015", maybe less, but probably better than a threaded hole. The part of the handle that holds the screws is aluminum and appears to be painted black as I don't think it's anodized. The hexagonal tip at the end is made of steel and is pressed into the aluminum handle. The abs feel great on the set I received and so far no issues with it coming out or turning. The hex hole in the tip looks like it was punched at the end and on two of the pieces I bought it was definitely off center. Visually very noticeable. This probably didn't affect the operation I was doing and probably never will, except maybe I want to drive the screws deeper and the bit size for that is a problem anyway, since the diameter is larger than the smaller diameter threaded hole. You will notice that the outside diameter of the hex point is larger than the smaller diameter of the threaded hole, so you can only screw it in up to that point and the tool will bang and then after a while the hex points will separate. Point after screwing a little further. In my case it was deep enough, but I could think of cases where this might be an issue. Sometimes I was afraid I wouldn't be able to unscrew it if I went too far. fits good. I've had no trouble installing bolts on these 1/4-20 tabs, but I've seen it come from the wrong combination of bolt size and tube ID. The main issue I had was starting with the screw at the bottom so it was a bit difficult to get them to start but they all worked fine once I screwed them in. just a little problematic, no cross-threading at the beginning. I think for the money it's pretty manageable. I generally prefer to buy American-made ones, and the American-made ones I've used in the past haven't had any interference issues due to the hex tip OD and smaller threaded hole diameter. So if you really need to screw them in to an absolute depth where the tip barely protrudes (up to .050"), they probably won't work, otherwise you can't beat the price for what you're getting. Update after full use. A: I had to return a set because several of the shipping screws were broken and cross-threaded. I think they are pinched because the threads have completely shifted from side to side. Thus, of the two sets of these 1/4-20s, one set had to be returned. I've also used them again and they seem to work fine, but not as well as the US made set. I also see that some sizes have almost doubled in price and made the same quantity as in the US. You can buy a better set now. I took off another star because I had to return a set. 4 stars with the above issues and now 3 stars because I have to return a set. I would rate a US made set 5 stars. It is unclear why the price has increased. Revain's prices fluctuate like the stock market. No rhyme or reason.

Pros
  • Practical and economical combination of four sizes that are often used together
Cons
  • Without automatic
