Review on Flexcut Carving Tools Craving FR804 by Doris Tran

I have used them for figurine carving and intend to continue using them as I make miniature Victorian furniture which requires many molds for flowers and other ornaments . .The only problem I have is trying to sharpen them. I use hardwood now, and pushing a blunt point into hardwood usually results in injury. They are so small that the regular stones I have to sharpen are too big and/or not rounded. I bought something to help sharpen these little tools, but it turned out to be nothing more than a strip of leather glued to a piece of basswood, including the curves. I have yet to figure out how basswood can be useful for sharpening these tips.
