This replacement part is not radical! There is no need to drill or ream a factory hole to make the JL hood latch fit. This is the safe and right way to fix hood chatter. Any other repair or replacement dramatically increases the chances of your hood starting to rust, and God knows how much Mopar loves to rust! Why give him a chance? It took me about 15 minutes to swap out these straps, and did it with a drink in hand. My jeep still looks good and that shaking hood is yesterday. When these new replacement straps wear out, I change them again while another guy buffs his rust, repaints, and replaces the original straps because he had to "drastically" change his Jeep's hood buckles. This is just my humble opinion, although the JL buckles look nice.
