You just can't go wrong.

This replacement part is not radical! There is no need to drill or ream a factory hole to make the JL hood latch fit. This is the safe and right way to fix hood chatter. Any other repair or replacement dramatically increases the chances of your hood starting to rust, and God knows how much Mopar loves to rust! Why give him a chance? It took me about 15 minutes to swap out these straps, and did it with a drink in hand. My jeep still looks good and that shaking hood is yesterday. When these new…

YOU NEED IT VERY MUCH.

OMG If you've never updated anything on JK, do it. I have a 17 year old JKU with 3,000 miles on it and just last week I was traveling across the state on business and the cross winds were 50 mph or so. I finally figured out what Wrangler hood flap is. After the first semi-frontal passage from the lee side in such a wind, I almost understood what it's like to shit your pants as an adult. I swear I thought the hood was going to come off. They are SUPER EASY to install, it literally couldn't be…

Cheap exorcism!

A few weeks ago I bought a used 2010 JK and had to drive it home for an hour and a half. As soon as I accelerated down the highwayβ€”GOD GODβ€”the hood began to close like a demon was trying to break it out from under. After watching the hood rattle all the way home, I ordered a bottle of holy water from Revain ($10.73 with free shipping) and filled this 3.8-liter V6 while my kids sang the medieval prayers , which we found on Google. Unfortunately, that didn't work out, because the next day on the…

Installs perfectly in 10 minutes with the right tools.1) Soak the urethane straps in hot water immediately after opening the package. I boiled some water in a beer mug and threw it away. 2) Cut the factory rubber with a NEW utility knife blade. They cut like butter in 30 seconds. 3) Use a small set of bolt cutters. If you don't have them, pick up a $20 set at a hardware store (or Amazon if you're here). You have JK, you'll need her anyway. The factory "plastic" pins actually have a steel…

Take your time. Try installing in warm weather.

Very robust. The reason they want you to install them on 70+ is because the heat will help them stretch without tearing when you attach them to the hood and slowly stretch until they snap into place. So I didn't unscrew anything, my friend and I used a camel sized crowbar to pry the cap of each clasp. Just remember to put masking tape where you work or use a rag to avoid scratching the paint. Unlocking the hood lock. I hooked the bar and then rocked it and slowly released it about 30 times at a

Works great with some comments

They work great! Hood shake has been completely eliminated. I will make some comments. First, to remove the old rubber, you don't have to remove the slide. I was able to grab both sides of the existing bolt and cut it off very easily. 2. Be sure to heat the new rubber/plastic. I put it in my driveway on a warm day (80's) in bright sunshine. The instructions say to do this project over 70. If you were doing it in the winter I would soak it in hot water, take it outside and install it right away.

  • Solid construction

  • Some bugs
