This product really gets the job done - hold hot soups in a way that doesn't burn your hands and gives you more. control its use. The lid prevents the microwave from splashing and the ventilation prevents the microwave from exploding. Most importantly, the container holds a full cup of soup, including oversized soups. I love a good clam chowder for lunch and my whole glass plus a few extra clams I put in goes really well. You can see how large this container is compared to another brand's insulating bowl in my attached photo. My only concern is that while the product claims to last plastic through multiple microwave cycles, it's hard to believe when food keeps coming close to boiling. But at my age, comfort is more important than having a few toxins in my body. Otherwise, let's be honest - it's not the most elegant bowl you've ever seen. You're not taking him out to Thanksgiving dinner. But for a quick and easy lunch, it's hard to beat.
