Review on ANNMETER AN-1800 Digital Infrared Thermometer - Handheld High Temperature Pyrometer Gun for Non-Contact Measuring (-58~3,272℉), 50:1 IR Laser Gauge for HVAC, Kiln, Cooking - NOT for Human Temperature by Juan Simpson

Very massive, Lego Duplo-like, extreme temperature range

This pistol is excellent for extreme heat and cold. It feels accurate and the settings are easy to change and intuitive. The form factor is fine, although it's very chunky and larger than I think it should be. The laser is weird and terribly inaccurate. Its accuracy seems to suffer at normal human temperature and room temperature (32F-100F). Even with a properly adjusted gun, body temp reads around 70F, while my other temp gun with the same settings reads around 98F. In general, this is good when you need a range of extreme temperatures. However, if you're just trying to measure less extreme temperatures, you'll save money and buy a cheaper and less bulky gun.

Pros
  • Heavy-duty construction
Cons
  • Requires power outlet
