Could be better

The price is not that low simply that way. The good first: 1) Easy connection with Thunderbolt 2) Connected devices recognized almost instantly 3) Ability to seamlessly connect external drives that require power or no power 4) Works to charge devices like headphones when the laptop is powered off. bad1) Probably 10 GB/s. I have one such device and when connected directly via Thunderbolt I get close to the advertised speed of a PCI NVMe 3x4 SSD. However, when the same element is connected to it, which should be 10 Gbps, I only get about 5 Gbps. I have two of them and unfortunately they both behave the same2) Lately I've been using it to charge my iPhone. When a cable started acting like it had gone bad, I threw it away. Later that day I plugged in a good cable and it started behaving the same way. Plug the cable into the direct port of the laptop and the cable will work fine. Other thoughts: I would return both if I knew it wouldn't reach the advertised speed. I bought them to protect my system in the future, but when the future came, things didn't look good.

Pros
  • USB-C to USB adapter with two USB 3.0 ports (5Gb/s): 1x USB-A and 1x USB-C / supports speeds up to 5Gb/s
Cons
  • not reliable
