Great idea - we need more USB ports and using the C connector is a very practical, even necessary, approach. It's not cheap but I thought it was worth it. It was. a week long. For those thinking of trying this: iMac with Thunderbolt 1 used an Apple TB3 to TB2 adapter with a Cellularize USB-C female adapter to connect this StarTech USB hub , and it didn't work.
