This inexpensive door lock with key lock was easy to install on my screen door. If you bought a new screen door, you may need a drill and 1/8" bit to drill the hole or screw holes for installation. Mounting screws, metal screws, and wood screws used for installation require a Phillips or Phillips screwdriver. A marker or pen is also handy for marking where to drill the holes. Spacers are designed to provide the best fit between the latch and the latch retainer which is attached to the door jamb opposite the latch. You may need two pairs of pliers to resize the steel rod that connects the outside and inside of the latch. The length of the crossbar must be adjusted to the width of the screen door. Instead of two pliers, a small rotary tool with a clipped blade will work.
