Review on Kryptonite Kryptolok Folding Bike Lock by Jeff Payne

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Great lock, poor attachment

The lock itself is great: quality workmanship, chain long enough to wrap around the bike frame, front wheel and any mount you want to attach the bike to a security cover, which slides into the front keyway and protects it from dirt and rain. The plastic around the links protects the bike frame. Sturdy but not too heavy. Mounting hardware is a joke though. The elastic that holds the lock in place comes off too easily, making it easy to lose. The hose clamp, as well as the mounting straps on the frame, just don't work. They get stuck halfway through the installation and then become very annoying to remove. Instead, I used zip ties. It doesn't matter: the lower half of the shackle simply broke off due to the weight of the lock after the first ride over a bumpy road. This is not what you would expect from a kryptonite lock.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Minor issues
