Don't be afraid to buy this welder. It is impressive.

I have used this welder several times and it has exceeded my expectations. Everything worked great. Even the overheat protection works. I used it for about 30-40 minutes the third time and the heat protection light came on. I let it cool overnight and started welding again the next day. I welded the rest of my project putting down the last 12 feet of welds and it worked great. I pushed this thing to its limits and it held up. I have to find a special outlet for this in my store as it will shut off a circuit that is too weak if you are not careful. But you just flip a switch and move on. You just have to pay attention to the duty cycle and take your time when welding. I plan to use my generator to be able to weld outside of my workshop. These gasless cored wire welders generate a lot of spatter. So are all these types of welders. That is the nature of this method. If you don't need spatter, save some money and buy a gas-shielded welder. I was scared to buy this because I didn't have the money to spend it on a piece of junk and this thing is a really good welder if you use it for little fun projects. The piece I welded supported the entire weight of my body, bouncing on it and keeping me going. I weigh over 200 pounds so that says something about the welds he makes. I used the spool of flux wire that came with the machine and a spool and a half of Lincoln Electric flux wire. In total I used almost 3 pounds of flux welding wire. I love using this stuff. It's fun, but take care. I have a good helmet, gloves and a welder's apron, but I still managed to burn my knuckles. Wear the right gear with these welders. They give a lot of splashes. I can't stress this enough.
