The thing works great. Welds as well as any welding machine. shit instructions. Luckily I have some experience so I really didn't need it. The fragile little mask that comes with it is great for spectators.

I don't see anywhere that the extension cord isn't working, even the power won't turn on. Tried it with a straight outlet and works, but as often as you have an outlet nearby you can bet it will work even with a big cord, it should be portable. So to be really portable you have to have at least one generator?

I'm almost afraid to review, I don't want to jinx myself, here I've used it about 15 times and so far it's working great. Very impressed, especially for the money there is a wire that costs more than a welder. Sure, it's a lightweight welder for beginners, but that's what I need it for. I'm not a professional welder but I've already fixed about 15 things around my house. so yes it works for me

Okay, I won't go into technical details. I DON'T AND I CAN'T WELDING. Long story short, my spacer was completely rusted. I jacked up my car, removed the tire and moved the strut post back to where it needed to be, then used this welder to weld rebar over it to hold the post in place. My welds look awful but they make the metal stick together which is exactly what I needed. My spacer is now where it should be and instead of having my car thrown away or probably spending over a thousand dollars…

Update: I went to the last place I could think of to get the information I needed. There was a video clip on the description page showing an instruction manual under the top of the welder AND where to open that cover! After finding an almost useless notebook, I was able to figure out how to insert the wire - no, thanks to the instructions! Gentlemen (and/or ladies) Have your brochures proofread by someone who speaks ENGLISH! With all that said, the welder itself works very well for a weekend…

I have used this welder several times and it has exceeded my expectations. Everything worked great. Even the overheat protection works. I used it for about 30-40 minutes the third time and the heat protection light came on. I let it cool overnight and started welding again the next day. I welded the rest of my project putting down the last 12 feet of welds and it worked great. I pushed this thing to its limits and it held up.
