Filters well but has its downsides! EDIT BY REVIEWER

I'm editing my review two days after it was originally posted: One complaint was about the lack of a 'manual' for the product. In discarding the shipping carton and accompanying packing materials, I found a "manual" behind the foam packaging that protected the pitcher during transit. (It worked as the jar arrived safe and sound). Guilty! I apologize for providing incorrect information. Our satisfaction with filtered water grows every day as we gain experience with the system. We agree because our complaints are so minor they sound like whining! The quality, price and portability make this a good investment if you need a "Krug" filtration system. Just got a jug. Used it twice and enjoyed coffee with filtered water. Since we don't produce bottled water, that alone is a plus for us. We have a municipal water system, so impurities are often not found in well water, but "taste” is subjective, and even the taste of municipal water varies from country to country. The same applies to well water. We think our water is fine, but we know there are additives that can affect the taste of a person with a picky taste buds. Our fridge, like so many other things these days, has filtered water that greatly improves the taste, but access to it is limited, making it difficult to use for cooking or making coffee. What keeps my "score" low is the somewhat misleading information in the description. to Raven. That's less than I expected. It stated 13 cups, which was the largest I could find in jug form. Its smaller size is okay, but it only really holds 8 cups of "filtered" water. The pot came with no instructions for use. The "box" revealed more information than Revain's description. Size listed as: 3.2L / 13 cups (8 after filtering). Most of what Revain has is on the box. Two filters are included, but there is no information on how to get more. I couldn't find anything in my limited web search. I emailed the address on the box to find out. The photos show a box and two types of jugs containing 8 cups of filtered water. Note that the water level is near the bottom of the filter. In one photo the door "open" is filled. Adding 4 more cups of water at this point will almost fill the pitcher, but will submerge the filter, leaving you 2/3 filtered and the rest unfiltered. The filling at this point is a mixture of filtered and unfiltered water. I'm not sure how these pitchers "work". but there are many, and most of them are more expensive than this model. Also note the missing volume markings on the jug. Until we gain "experience" in filling from a tap, a measuring cup is necessary for accurate filling. It's not yet clear if this pitcher will be so easy to use that it can be 'used' many times. That and the ability to find additional filters can certainly increase my score.
