So the new Capresso grinder/boiler failed after only a few months due to poor design/parts. However, the design of the Capresso machine was smart and functional until it just didn't work for me anymore. This Cuisinart suffers from very poor design. The people who designed this thing are conscientious idiots. Question: What is the point of a combined ground and brew coffee machine? Answer: convenience! Ironic plot twist: This device is the polar opposite of convenience. As with all the other reviews (and I'd love to hear them), moisture builds up all over the machine during brewing, and moisture lingers long after the brewing process is complete. The worst thing is that a large amount of moisture gets into the GRAIN MILL! Moisture makes the inside of the grinder sticky from the mixture of ground coffee and unground beans. It sticks together so strongly that the grinder needs to be removed and cleaned after each use! So now I spend 15 minutes (at least) twice a day cleaning that damn meat grinder! Not to mention that about 1/4 of the coffee is wasted because it sticks together and gets stuck in the coffee grinder! Serious. The "dream" of a grinder/brewer combo is LESS, not MORE, effort. I have MUCH MORE trouble with this machine than if I just had a cheap coffee pot with a separate grinder. In this case, I will NEVER wash the coffee maker or coffee grinder. Well maybe once a month to get rid of growths, blemishes or whatever. Throw away the old flour, rinse out the pan, and start another pan. That's how it's done in the real world. No one wants to take a complicated machine apart, clean it, and reassemble it after each pot! All Cuisinart managed to do with this device is they stuck the grinder deep into the coffee maker to make it much more difficult to manage and they forced the owner to wash the dishes for an extra 15-45 minutes every day! Well done guys! Congratulations on the failure of your epic design! NOTES: I live in an arid climate, so moisture is almost never an issue for me in any situation. I live alone, so I don't run the dishwasher every day, so I can't wash these pieces in the dishwasher like Cuisinart suggests (also, I don't want to put as much jam coffee and unground beans in it). in the dishwasher two or three times a day. I can't imagine anyone doing that. And in fact, it takes just as long to wash and put these parts in the dishwasher as it does to just hand wash them in the dishwasher. Bathroom sink)
