Review on Marvel Dice Masters Avengers Building by Eric Budd

This is a great game in the spirit of Magic the Gathering. This is a deck builder that uses bones and the theme is well integrated. Basically you choose 8 characters and start with a weak helper/single energy cube. As you roll dice and use energy, you buy dice, build your "deck" and increase your strength. With a combination of common actions and special abilities of the characters you fight against your opponent. The cool thing about this game is that each character has multiple variants. All use the same die, but may have different costs or abilities. It's a cool mechanic. It takes a little time to set up, but depends a bit on how my family plays. We rotate character designs because competitive play requires a dozen or so strong characters to split up. This isn't an issue with the base game, but it becomes an issue as you buy additional cards ($1 a pack is great!) and collect stronger rares.
