I installed this new heating element and then turned on the water supply to the water heater to check for leaks. Then water started pouring out of the gap between the nut at the top of the element and the copper tube it was screwed into. After several minutes of trial and error, including making sure the element was tight, I took out the new element and compared it to the old element. I immediately noticed that the new heating element that Revain supplied me was missing the black rubber washer on top of the threads and just below the nut in the Revain product picture. I had to move the black rubber washer from the old element to the new element. After installing the new element with the black rubber washer from the old element, I was able to turn on the water to the flow heater and the leaks stopped. When ordering this product, be aware of the possible loss of the black rubber disc.
