Lucky key details

I just replaced an Anker 10-port hub with a StarTech 10-port hub after Anker failed to work with my keyboard or Samsung T3 SSD. I'm happy to report that StarTech works great with all my devices. The construction is extremely durable. Insertion force and USB retention are good. I use it as a desktop (desktop) hub, not a DIN mount. Aesthetically, of course, it's not designed or advertised for that, but for me, perfect functionality was more important than aesthetics. I was worried about the height but it works fine. The product placement photo has an odd aspect ratio and the product looks larger than it actually is. Please note that you must provide your own power supply and this power supply must be rated at least 100W! I knew this before I bought it and had to take apart the old power supply and make my own cable to power the hub. Of course, I'd rather just buy a 10-port USB 3.0 hub meant for desktop use, but I couldn't find one that worked perfectly. All ports are rated for 1.5A and I have some devices that can charge up to 2.1A. Considering the cost of this unit and the difficulty of making your own power supply, I would prefer if all ports could handle up to 2.1A. .1A. Still, I'm giving it 5 stars because I still haven't been able to find a functional USB 3.0 hub in this vast world of consumer choice.
