First, I should mention that although I ordered a lotus pattern mug, I got 5 stars for it The rating refers to Pisachio cups (plain green). If you are sensitive to texture, DO NOT order a lotus mug. I received the mug, took it out of the box and couldn't take it anymore. The white flowers are slightly raised and painted with some texture (rather than covered with a smooth glaze). I contacted the seller and they were very accommodating and apologized - and sent me a replacement pistachio cup (green only). The pistachio mug is perfectly smooth and I took it to work to make loose tea. It is used daily in both loose leaf and tea bags. The brew basket works great and I like that it's big enough to give the tea quite a bit of room to float while brewing. The mug also keeps my tea hot much longer than other mugs I have. cups and tea flows out). I would say that this mug is just as good for giving the tea enough room to move while brewing.
