Before Hurricane Harvey, I stocked up on diesel and gasoline. I have some old military grade 5 gallon (metal) jerry cans that I use for fuel storage. These are metal tanks and will rust inside if left unused for a while. I bought it to filter fuel before it goes into the car's tanks. That works great. I noticed a bit of sediment in the trap area (which is what the lower area is under the filter for). Buy a flexible extension cord, it will make it much easier to use. To transfer fuel I use a siphon hose for a shaker (google it). All you have to do is hold the filter funnel and suction hose while the glass is still. Leaving the canister still will reduce any movement of sediment from the bottom of the canister (pouring directly into the vehicle's tank without this filter will allow dirt to enter and cause problems with your vehicle in the future). This is a must if you are storing fuel for your vehicles. I recommend this product.
