So, I gave the PA Pocket Eagle Winner 2In1 a go, and while it's certainly an interesting concept, I can't say it completely lived up to expectations. Yes, it's a binocular and, yes, it boasts some serious macro capabilities, but the execution left a little to be desired. The first thing I noticed when I picked up these binoculars was the weight. They're hefty little things, and I'm not sure I'd want to carry them around for any length of time. That said, they feel sturdy and well-made, and I didn't experience any issues with the focus wheel or lens adjustment. Unfortunately, where the PA Pocket Eagle Winner 2In1 falls down a little is in the macro department. Don't get me wrong - the close-focusing is definitely there, and you can get some pretty spectacular views of tiny objects. But what I really struggled with was the micro-distance focusing. Basically, it just didn't work. I tried and tried, but no matter what I did, I couldn't get anything to come into focus. So, would I recommend this as a gift idea? Honestly, I'm not sure. If you're buying for someone who's really into wildlife or nature photography, and they don't already have a binocular/macro lens setup, then this could be an interesting addition to their kit. But if you're just looking for a fun gadget to play around with, you might be better off giving it a miss. Overall, I'd award the PA Pocket Eagle Winner 2In1 three stars out of five - a valiant effort, but ultimately not quite there yet.
