Works perfectly! on Building Supplies

I have a workshop in my garage and it already has foam insulation on the door - the west facing door which gets direct sun all day and gets very warm at 6pm . With foam on it, mine and the outside temp are 98F, the inside of my door will still be 92-94F and the outside temp of the door will be a hot 157F! Which given the 60F difference (which is pretty good) is still hot! That 94F inside would still bake my garage shop at 90+. even at night when I couldn't get the heater out (another set of problems). So as a first step in my problem I had to find a way to block some of that radiant heat from the inside of the door. I have a 3 car garage and it's a lot of radiant heat - I bought 3 boxes of this stuff. Instead of taking the foam off and sticking it directly to the door, which I see a lot, I figured I was leaving an extra barrier. insulation and put this on top of the foam on a couple of boards before going all in. Since it's a hot day, I could see right away if it was working. To my surprise. I checked the temp and the panel with the emitter on the foam was 10F colder than the foam itself. The outside temp is 94F and inside the garage door where only the foam itself is showing almost 86F - where I have a radiant barrier on top of the foam, are it 72F! Which is 20F cooler! And I haven't even installed a fan in the garage to extract the heat OR a fan in the attic! I recommend this? Absolutely! 100%. and I think if you already have foam, leave it! This is an additional barrier that seems to work well.
