I have used almost all types of wax. What I have found is that the substrate can and does affect the adhesion and quality of the wax. Usually for car and gelcoat I use carnuba wax. Decided to try this more expensive wax (according to reviews) for my gelcoat (34 Rinker Fiesta Vee) on the surface. This is important as this stuff dries quickly as stated below. I also apply it to Von Hand apply, apply to one side, flip to buff). Here are some pros and cons: Pros - Great shine with minimal polish, not much is enough (if you can't wax a 34ft boat with a can, wax you heavy). It will probably last longer than most waxes, although I'll be back in a few months to give feedback on a good wax. The shelf life of a good wax should be 6 months (or longer in my case as I covered permanently). Cons - you have to use a sponge applicator (I used a terry towel and it doesn't get the hardened wax out of the can without effort); price (at 6 months or more the shelf life makes up for the difference in price - don't know yet); I don't like the difference in gloss on a non-slip surface (might just be a reflection artifact under the covered/shaded area); As other reviews have noted, it dries quickly and you can only do this on small areas at a time (even under decking in my case). Wear gloves (unlike carnuba, this material quickly wicks moisture from your skin). Overall I'm giving it a 4 because I have a feeling the wax will last quite a while - longer than regular carnub wax. But for the price. Continuation. I've been using for about 2 years. In July 2018 I did a depilation. Broadcasting continued through the following March. Waxed again in May 2019 and this lasted until around January 2020 so for a rarely used boat this material will last under the covers for 6-8 months. It will likely last longer if you apply a double coat. So I give it a 4.5/5 due to the difficulty of applying and buffing - not as easy as, for example, the softer Carnub wax.
