Review on 🧁 Wonderart Cupcake Latch Hook Kit - 12x12 Inches by Wendy Rodriguez

I bought this locking hook for my 8 year old daughter. The canvas is not stamped but there is a 10x10 grid. I know a lot of people complain about the design not being printed on canvas, but here's the thing: My daughter started with another kit that was stamped, but the colors and patterns on the canvas didn't always match the ones Colors on canvas match printed template, so printing on it proved more confusing. I told her to just ignore the colors on the canvas and follow the pattern in the instructions and she found it much easier and clearer. Now that she's working on this unicorn kit, she has no problem working on a blank canvas. In fact, she said it was easier to work with because there weren't any colors on the canvas to confuse her. She started in the lower left corner as instructed and simply went over line by line, coloring in the cells filled with markers as she went. I think this is a great precursor to the counted cross stitch she eventually wants to learn. a few in case someone gets lost). You would think that something called a "set" would have all the tools needed to complete it, but I think it makes sense that the hook isn't included. If you bought several of these over time and each came with a locking hook, you would end up with a box full of locking hooks. I'd rather buy a few than a bunch of junk. The pattern and colors are very pretty. The only thing that confuses me is that the two shades of blue - sky blue and dusty blue - are so similar that it takes a real effort to tell them apart. They had to choose more contrasting colors for these two shades of blue. We got out all the sky blues and put them in a ziplock bag at the start of the project so my daughter didn't have to stop and figure out which blue was which every time she pulled out the floss to use it. But other than that, it's a great project that will provide many hours of enjoyment.
