The quality of these unfinished wooden ornaments is pretty good. but only two of the pieces in my package had imperfections and both had one side smooth enough to decorate nicely. None of these were unusable. This was important to me. Cut the removed and missing excess from the packaging. I only had to remove the tip of the pen use to squeeze out two or three small teardrop shaped pieces of waste before each was ready to use If I got 50 pieces in as needed In the product listing I would have given this 5 stars Instead I got 48 per pack While 96% of the expected product is better , as the 4/5 stars would suggest (80% rating for those who don't know their fractions), I cannot rate the highest rating, ie a product that as a thing v was bought while it supplies another. If the company sends me two of my missing parts I will upgrade this rating to 5 stars. I bought Sharpie Paint Marker-Fine and Sakura Pen-Touch Extra-Fine OIL BASED pens for writing. There's still some feathering in these oil pens, but we figured it wouldn't be too bad for our intended use. If you want very sharp lines of detail, I think you'll need to seal or paint these (or other?) wooden decorations to achieve that level of perfection, but I hope my photos give uncomplicated guys like me a clear idea of what they need be done. expect. That was my biggest question before buying. My photos also make it clear that 3.5 inches is the longest size, from the "top" of the ornament, which extends beyond the circle, to its base. The circular area itself is exactly about 3 inches. Like many others, I would like a larger set of these. Feel free to order this brand, but consider ordering more if the exact amount of jewelry is important to your project.
