I bought this because it was supposed to be buoyant. Spring. My goddaughter fell into the water and said the oar went down. I saw him fall into the water. I let go of the oar and had to swim out to bring it back to shore because the oar sank in the lake. When I used the paddle I felt great, I had no problems. Of course I didn't fall off the board, but when my godson fell, the rowing was over. I am very disappointed that the paddle is not what is advertised. I want to contact support and get either a refund or another paddle. Update, I never got a response from customer service and went through two paddles. Both are from my godchild. I personally love the feel of the paddle but when it comes to kids and the likelihood of falling in the water this paddle isn't worth it and it's even more frustrating that customer service won't return anything. So, even for an experienced paddler the paddles feel great, in my experience this is a 1 star product due to the lack of response or help from the manufacturer or seller.
