Revainrating 4 out of 5

The Dark Side Agrees (read everything before you make a decision)

I read other reviews before posting mine. I bought two of these to replace some of Acer's older 1080p gaming monitors. Just in time for next-gen consoles. The first thing I checked before putting them on my desk were dead pixels. Went to website to see solid colors. I was inches from the screen. I haven't noticed any dead or stuck pixels on any of them, which is great because I'd ask Revain to replace them. Yes they are 5ms but if you are like me you are a great player of any video game regardless of all that response time nonsense a 1ms monitor will not do you well if you are not good at the beginning. The colors are fantastic, I use them both calibrated with Nvidia's control panel and 10bpc instead of 8bpc like they came from the factory. Colors appear and bleed towards you. As for the monitors themselves, I use the default color setting. I'm fed up with all the color settings that come with the preset FPS and the 2 settings in game look awful and overly harsh. I think they made them like that for those blind people who shoot walls in FPS. Everything is very detailed and beautiful. I even tried it on my PS4 Pro, although the PS4 Pro doesn't actually support 4K games natively, it does checkerboard smoothing, which is very noticeable on this monitor and really makes a difference. I can't wait to see what the PS5 will look like on it in native 4K. Yes, the panels are only 60Hz so for any sweaty miners who think this is a killer feature, not me, I have Asus ROG 144Hz monitors, everything just moves smoother and seems faster at times. If you want that kind of effect just have some coffee and you will feel the same lol. Another thing I didn't really like is how reflective the screens are. I'm not talking about being able to see yourself like a mirror, no, I'm talking about the light. If there is a light or TV behind you you can definitely see glare which you can see in the 2nd picture. My phone had trouble catching the monitor screen due to glare. As for blowouts, yes they are (they're always on IPS monitors), and for $240 and 4K you've got nothing to complain about. Before that I bought BenQ 4K EL28 1ms which are more expensive because of the sweaty marketing of 1ms, the colors were so terrible. I just hate TN panels, nasty, if you're so focused on response time and bland colors, skip your nasty TN panels. VA and IPS are the way to full satisfaction. Have had them for about a month as far as I can tell, don't think I'll have problems for a while. All those negative reviews, yes you need to understand that products are always successful for everyone. Some of them will not be perfect on the assembly line, others may have dead pixels or those pixel lines because the panel was damaged during shipping or installed incorrectly. Don't be fooled by negative reviews of these monitors. You can always return them as per Revain policy if you don't like them. But for $240, are you kidding me? you steal. Yes, they don't have HDR, but HDR on monitors is a joke. Let's be realistic. If you want really nice HDR, you would invest your money in a new OLED/QLED TV from LG or Samsung, which will cost you around a thousand dollars. For gaming and multimedia, this is just fantastic. Sorry this review was so long, but it just annoys me that every monitor on Amazon has the same negative "dead pixels/pixel lines" reviews that every brand has. You have to be extremely ignorant to think that this only happens with one brand. Exchange or return, problem solved. Your bad experience doesn't justify 90% of the people who actually enjoy it.
