I chose this product because it looks very functional and I liked the black anodized finish. I thought that the black coating would make the product easier to wash. Before use I washed with warm soapy water and let dry. My first touch was a chunk of sharp cheddar cheese on a paper plate. I noticed a few black flakes in the cheese so stopped using it. I used a magnifying glass to see where the shredder had ripped off the black coating. I strongly DO NOT recommend this product as it poses a health hazard to consumers. And I will send the goods back quickly.
