, I use mine on a 3/4 gallon micro tank. I don't use the included and detachable clip on the base. I just mount it on top of the tank and simply secure it with a few pieces of tape with the dispenser positioned over the feeding hole. The instructions aren't quite as clear, but it only took me a few minutes to figure out the programming and adapt it to my needs. The programming options are quite flexible. I only use mine when we're on the go, but there's no reason the device couldn't be used for everyday use. Since my tank is small, the smallest opening in the dispenser will allow too much feed to fall. It took several minutes of playing around with duct tape to make the hole smaller so it would dispense just the right amount of food. But once that was done, it's been working fine ever since. (Note: I use flake food. I've found that I have to grind the food to get it out evenly; the large flakes don't block the small hole I created.) I'm very happy with the device.
