The two halves will not separate, so plan ahead for assembly.
I used them to build a tool box on the bed of a truck. That works great. Note that the inner rail cannot be removed from the outer rail. Plan the assembly of the drawer with the body in advance. I've towed about 250 pounds over rough roads with no problem.
