Would have bought a cottage with "lounger" railings but no backrest. Obviously dangerous from a 10 foot drop. I lengthened some of the posts to add a tethered backrest so as not to ruin the view of the Maine coast but to prevent people from leaning too far from the deck seats and falling off the edge! This is where this product comes into play. I needed something durable that would stand up to the weather. The 1/8" stainless steel braided cable was perfect. Having never worked with this material before, I watched the installation video and saw how easy it was. When it arrived it came with instructions, but I went back to the video on the amazon listing. like the air freshener I needed. It was very easy to install and looks amazing. Three tips worth mentioning: 1. Make a template so your drilled holes are exactly the same on your shelves Simply tighten the nut on the threaded end about 1/2 so you can use the remaining threads for final tightening 3. The push-on cap on the connector end needs a slightly larger hole, but don't drill it all the way - just enough to make it flush with the shoulder pressed in. Oh yeah, don't "check" the end of the push cap. Once it's on the cable it doesn't come off as intended. Good product. Will buy again!
