I had high hopes that it could cover my unique space considering it could wrap around an object and that turned out to be the only good thing about a baby gate. Although they come with clear instructions and a template for installation, the ease of installation is overshadowed by the fact that these baby gates are not secure. The main disadvantage of these gates is that there is not enough tension when fully used to keep the net taut resulting in my 15 month old being able to crawl and wade under the gate. See photos of my foot for reference. The second I saw my little one crawl under it, I removed the screen and am now considering replacing it with old fashioned plastic screens. If you can overcome this shortcoming, this gate cannot be opened/closed with one hand. Once the gate was fully untangled I had to fight to get this thing to pull the gate back into the case holding it. I believe this will not be an issue at the shorter distance as it retracted with no problem when I opened the gate within door opening distance. Unfortunately this baby gate only lasted a few days in my house so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Parent.
